A scrumptious spread of baked goodies was provided by Hayward Moon staff, including sausage rolls, cupcakes, brownies, and many vegan/free from options, but the star of the show had to be the Macmillan tray bake beautifully baked by Ella and serving as a fantastic centrepiece.
Macmillan Cancer Support are a household name and, unfortunately, most of us will know someone who has benefitted from their services. It is estimated that one in two people will face cancer in our lifetimes and many of the staff at Hayward Moon know all too well how difficult this can be. We are therefore delighted to confirm that we have already raised £347.12 which is enough money to pay for a nurse for a day and still have money left over towards a hospital quiet room where cancer patients can have private and sensitive conversations with their healthcare team.
I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who was involved. To all the people who took time out of their day to come and drink coffee, eat cake and play games with us. To the friends and family who offered their baking skills to send us in with extra treats. Mostly, to the staff who helped with the organisation, baking, decorating, conversing, and general smooth running of the event. I couldn’t do this every year without you all.
